Spring Cleaning: Don’t Forget Your Car!

Spring is finally here. While it is nice to stay at home and enjoy the blossoming flowers, the chirping of the birds, and the wonderful colors of the butterflies that constantly visit your garden; you can’t help but plan out a relaxing trip. Should you visit the countryside for a new environment? Or should you hang out at the beach? However, before you hit the road for your springtime adventures, make sure you give your car some TLC. Check out our spring cleaning tips below for your four-wheeled friend.

The main console

Your car may have become a habitat of many germs and dirt during the long winter period. Give your car a nice do-over to get it ready for your spring escapades. Start it with your car’s main console. Clean it and its surrounding areas with a slightly damp cloth

The windows and mirrors

If your dashboard can get dirty over the winter, imagine the toll your windows and mirrors endured?. Plus, you wouldn’t want to drive your car and head towards your favorite vacation spot for the spring break with dirty car windows, right? When cleaning your car’s windows, clean them inside and out. Then wipe them with a clean cloth to make sure that you can clearly see the road and the cars behind you through your side mirrors.

The windshield wipers

Springtime doesn’t just give you sunny mornings, but it can also shower you with a good amount of rain. It is important to make sure that your car’s wipers are working well for this kind of element. Test your windshield wipers before your road trip. If you notice signs of wear, tear and possible damage, have it replaced right away.

The flooring and upholstery

Wintertime can be really a tough season for your car, especially its interior. The grime, mud, salt, and dirt from your shoes have stuck on the car’s flooring and upholstery. When the dirt accumulates, it can cause a foul odor on your car and may even trigger any allergic reactions from you. When cleaning your car, make sure to include the flooring and upholstery. Vacuum them well. You can also use a cleaning solution to remove stubborn dirt and stains.

The car’s trunk

One part of the car that we often lose sight of is the trunk. Whether you have been constantly using it or not, it is still one of the areas in your car that must be cleaned for spring. Remove any unnecessary things in the trunk before vacuuming it. Once it is cleaned, examine the area for cracks and crevices so you can have it repaired before your scheduled road trip.

The car’s exterior

Who wants to hit the road for the much-awaited spring break trip with a dirty and muddy car exterior? Nah. Aside from being a turn-off, it can also damage the pain and weaken your car’s exterior. You can clean the exterior yourself with a soft sponge and mild soap. You can also opt for a full-cleaning service to make sure that all corners of your car are taken care of.

The tire

No car cleaning will ever be complete without replacing your winter tires. To avoid tire damage and improve gas mileage, make sure that you use normal tires which are also properly inflated. Don’t forget to check your spare tire too.

Your car is one of your investments. Spring cleaning is part of maintaining its top condition, extending its lifespan, and making your driving experience more comfortable.
